What made you decide to pursue your degree as an adult?

I had children at an early age, and I never got a chance to pursue secondary education. So, once I got to a good place in life, I decided it was time to return to school.

Why did you choose to study at Tiffin University?

I chose Tiffin because they had the program I wanted to pursue, and I could pursue my degree online.

Describe your experience with the program so far.

So far, it’s been a great experience. Going back to school was scary for me because, overall there were a lot of systems that I hadn’t used before or was familiar with. However, the instructors made sure that everyone became proficient. Or gave tutorials for systems we weren’t familiar with.

I’ve had positive experiences with the faculty. From the advisors to the instructors, everyone has been so accommodating.

How are you juggling work, life and going back to school? Any tips?

It took me a while to balance my work, school, and family life. One bit of advice I will give is to make time for yourself. I found it easy to make school my focal point, and I lost myself because I wanted to do well. But when I began to have moments of burnout, I was forced to make time for myself consistently.

What keeps you motivated to stay in the program?

What keeps me motivated in this program is my family. I want to show them that you are never too old to pursue your dreams.

What advice would you give to a prospective student who is thinking about going back to school?

My advice is that there is never a good time to return to school, so do it and give it your all.

TU’s motto is: Without risk there is no gain. Can you tell us about a time when you took a risk and what you gained from it?

Going back to school when my life was entirely of chaos. I lost a lot on this journey, but I stayed the course and will graduate next year.
