Lisa Meinschock, Master of Humanities in Film Studies student
Current occupation: Administrative Assistant
What made you decide to pursue your degree as an adult?
I had been working for years, not really sure what I wanted to do for a career. I just decided one day that if I’m going to work, I should do something that I enjoy and that I am passionate about.
Why did you choose to study at Tiffin University?
Tiffin University is one of the schools that offered this program that didn’t focus film production, but focused on how films are made and the cultural impact which is what I interested in. It is also one of the more affordable schools and reviews of the school praised the school’s atmosphere and its faculty.
What has been your experience with the program so far?
I am only on Week 3 of my first class in the program and it’s been eye-opening but very comprehensive. The teaching staff is very helpful and a great resource for any questions you have.
What keeps you motivated to stay in the program?
The courses themselves keep me motivate because I’m learning things that I want to learn. Also, just knowing that this program will lead me to a career that I will enjoy motivates me to continue the program.
It will be hard work to juggle school with your normal life schedule but it will be worth it in the end.
What advice would you give to a prospective student who is thinking about going back to school?
Do it. Pick the program that you are passionate about and just go for it. It will be hard work to juggle school with your normal life schedule but it will be worth it in the end.
