What made you decide to pursue your degree as an adult?

I had a goal to obtain my college degree ever since I graduated high school many years ago. However, life happened and there were many obstacles that got in the way over time. As an adult I made a decision to continue my education so that I could accomplish my goal and also enhance further within my role in Law Enforcement. The flexibility of taking online courses here at Tiffin have provided me with the opportunity to complete what I started.

Why did you choose to study at Tiffin University?

After receiving my Associates Degree from Tri-C, I had the opportunity to meet with many academic counselors along the way in which I had been given material on Tiffin and what was offered here. Also, I have at least three co-workers that had told me great things about their journey at Tiffin where they pursued various Degrees as well.

What has been your experience with the program so far?

I have had nothing but great experiences here over the past two years. I had the opportunity to visit the campus last year when I received an award for my academic accomplishments. All of the teaching staff have been very pleasant and easy to communicate with so far.

What keeps you motivated to stay in the program?

Getting to the finish line is my motivation. Even though I am working a full time job and also a part time job while taking my courses I am determined to accomplish my original goal. Not to mention I have a daughter whom is looking up to me. I was the second person in my family to complete a college education and I want to be the first to receive my Masters Degree. I have had an exceptionally great Academic Advisor, Mary Ellen Denny as well, she has kept me on track from day one.

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about going back to school?

Make a goal and stick with it, your education is something no one can take away from you but you.
