What made you decide to pursue your degree as an adult?

I believed I was capable of doing more with my life. A degree offered me new opportunities and professional pathways to chase a career where I felt like I could make a difference.

Why did you choose to study at Tiffin University?

TU offered me the best mix of flexibility with my schedule, without sacrificing attention to my educational goals. They had a wide variety of programs, as well as some graduate programs I felt were appealing. After speaking with my advisor for the first time, I knew it was a place I could grow and succeed.

Describe your experience with the program so far.

Of course I was anxious. However, it quickly became clear the online program was set up for my success. The technology is extremely user-friendly, and my teachers/advisors all communicated constantly to address any potential issues.

It’s been a breeze. It feels like everyone is readily available to help me whenever I need it. They’ve been friendly, encouraging and helpful.

How are you juggling work, life and going back to school? Any tips?

Balance can be tricky. I work full-time, have two young children and a loving wife. My family’s support has been integral to my success. Being nervous is normal, maybe even preferable. The best tip I can give is to decide what you want, visualize your goals each day, and plan accordingly. Surround yourself with people who support you, and find time to take care of yourself each week.

What keeps you motivated to stay in the program?

I’ve set my sights on a career for my future, and I won’t stop until I’ve succeeded. This part of my education is important for my future success. My family, values and goals keep me focused.

What advice would you give to a prospective student who is thinking about going back to school?

Do it. It’s never too late. Life isn’t going to slow down, there will never be a better time. Don’t spend the rest of your life wondering “what if?”

TU’s motto is: Without risk there is no gain. Can you tell us about a time when you took a risk and what you gained from it?

Going back to school felt like a huge risk. The time and financial commitment were intimidating. I am comfortable in my career, but I know broader horizons await. I’ve gained an immense sense of pride, knowledge, and skills that will serve me and my family for the rest of my life.
