Current occupation: Sandusky County Juvenile Court – Program Coordinator
What made you decide to pursue your degree as an adult?
I obtained two bachelor’s degrees from Kent State University in 2016 then started my career with the Juvenile Court. Now that I have two years of work experience under my belt, I thought it would be the perfect time to further my education!
Why did you choose to study at Tiffin University?
I chose Tiffin University initially for the proximity to where I live and work. However, after meeting with an academic adviser and faculty member, my decision was made that much easier. I received such a warm welcome and everyone was so eager to explain the programs available.
What has been your experience with the program so far?
My classes do not start until tomorrow, however my experience has been great so far. I have already reached out to my professors via email and think I will really enjoy my classes.
What keeps you motivated to stay in the program?
My biggest motivation to continue the program is my desire and love for higher education. I had an amazing undergraduate experience which makes me that much more excited for graduate school.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about going back to school?
My advice for working adults thinking about returning to school is, “Do it! Take the leap! You will regret it if you don’t!”
TU’s motto is: Without risk there is no gain. Can you tell us about a time when you took a risk and what you gained from it?
I would honestly have to say the largest risk I have taken recently is deciding to pursue my master’s degree. Graduate school is extremely costly and I am quite a penny pincher. Allowing myself to spend that kind of money on my education was not an easy process. However, the risk is absolutely going to be worth it. I will not only gain a degree, but also knowledge and a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
