What made you decide to pursue your degree as an adult?

Growing up, it had always been a dream of my to complete my bachelor’s degree and to further my education. I want to be able to have a comfortable lifestyle once I find the right career for myself.

Why did you choose to study at Tiffin University?

I chose to study at Tiffin University for several different reasons. To keep it short, Tiffin is a very prestigious school and has a lot of programs and courses which you can enroll in in order to get the best education for yourself.

What has been your experience with the program so far?

My experience has been great with the program so far and I am sure it will continue to be that way until I graduate. The only thing that surprised me is that of how easy it is to access and keep track of everything I have done. The technology is very easy to use and Moodle, the program used to take the actual courses, was something I used in high school, so I was already familiar to begin with.

My interactions with the faculty and cohort have been nothing but great. Anytime I had a question or concern, the response I always received was generous and caring.

How are you juggling work, life and going back to school?

The reason I chose to take online courses in the first place is due to the fact that I wanted to be able to continue to spend time with my family, as well as being able to keep the current job I had and have still. If I am being honest, it all depends on the type of job you have and how involved you get in the courses. Someone who works long hours may find it harder to fit in time for courses. As someone who works on average 7-8 hours a day, I find it easiest to try to do a little bit of schoolwork in the morning and afternoon. There is nothing to be anxious about, you will eventually get use to the schedule you set yourself to. If I can do it, so can you!

What keeps you motivated to stay in the program?

The thought of being able to provide for my future family and current family keeps me motivated enough to stay and complete the program I am currently in.

What advice would you give to a prospective student who is thinking about going back to school?

Furthering your education is something we all should do in my opinion. While yes, it may take 2-4 years in order to complete a degree, it is something the future you will not regret.

TU’s motto is: Without risk there is no gain. Can you tell us about a time when you took a risk and what you gained from it?

Growing up, I was very shy and introverted. I hardly ever took risks and if I did, I always made sure someone was behind me to back me up. A risk I took personally, was finalizing obtaining my driver’s license. To many this isn’t a big deal, but to me, driving was my biggest anxiety that I faced everyday. Seven months ago, as a 22 year-old, I finally decided to get my driver’s license. The freedom I now have is compared to nothing I have ever felt. I promise you, all it takes is a few seconds or minutes of bravery in order to jump. If you fall down, get right back up and try again.
