What made you decide to pursue your degree as an adult?
Upon graduating from Heidelberg University in the Spring of 2017, I had a dream to further my education; however, I was unsure what my route or occupational goals would be and if they would maintain consistent with what I had planned during my undergraduate career. I wanted to get my feet wet in what graduate school consisted of, while taking courses that would be a requirement for a future doctorate program.
Why did you choose to study at Tiffin University?
I chose Tiffin University because the University offers flexible and independent learning opportunities through an online platform. Initially, I planned to attend another University physically; however, my professional obligations can be demanding at times which may have lead to my inability to attend class regularly.
What has been your experience with the program so far?
My experience has been phenomenal thus far. I am grateful that I essentially have the same routine for each class that I am enrolled in. For example, each course has required readings, discussion postings, response postings and the weekly assignment all due on the same day each week. I think that the teaching staff have been very helpful and professional in each course that I have taken. I enjoy that each professor takes the time to provide feedback on all assignments, as it makes it to be personal.
What keeps you motivated to stay in the program?
In all honesty, I am determined to finish what I have started. Knowing that I am not only refining my current knowledge of the field of psychology, but adding more information to my knowledge bank has been challenging yet intriguing.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about going back to school?
If you have weighed all of your options, believe that it is worth the financial investment, are interested in career advancement or simply have a goal that you are trying to accomplish – do it. However, nobody can make the choice to go back to school to further your education aside from yourself. Make sure that you are researching all options available and maintain commitment should this be the route that you take. If you’re interested in quality education while working full time and balancing family life, I would recommend Tiffin University.
