The healthcare management program is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and competencies necessary for managing in the 21st century healthcare industry. Healthcare managers must have expertise not only in healthcare, but also a working knowledge in key business areas such as operations, accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, leadership, strategy and more.
The knowledge gained from the BBA in Healthcare Management provides you with an excellent foundation of knowledge, skills and abilities for working effectively in a variety of management capacities. You’ll also be prepared to work in various non-clinical, non-management positions within the industry.
Built for professionals with demanding schedules, the program is delivered in an asynchronous online format. Students do not need to log in for live online classes on set days or times each week. Instead, course materials, discussions and assignments are completed within established deadlines, giving students more control over when they engage with their degree program work.

Active, Experiential Learning
Experiential learning is embedded in the Tiffin University Core curriculum, as well as in the healthcare management curriculum. Experiential learning provides you with an opportunity to be exposed to the industry and to individuals who currently work in the industry.
The healthcare industry is a system. The system includes various components that are interconnected and interdependent. Therefore, you’ll need to be educated on how to think critically, collaborate, be innovative, problem-solve, communicate, negotiate and think globally. You’ll be given an opportunity to practice these skills in each of the healthcare management courses.
You’ll be offered a variety of ways to showcase your understanding of the concepts, theories and models assigned. You’ll also be expected to complete a research project that addresses a community issue related to your career path. The project begins at the start of your program and concludes near the end of your learning journey.
Succeeding in a Diverse Healthcare Environment
Understanding and supporting cultural uniqueness is embedded in the curriculum of the healthcare management degree. Needs vary for those served by organizations in the industry, and individuals who work in the industry must be mindful and respect these differences. You’ll be exposed to various case studies and scenarios to analyze and assess cultural uniqueness. Format & Sample Courses
FORMAT
On Campus – Offered in a 15-week semester format with start dates of January and August
Online Asynchronous – The degree program is offered in a flexible asynchronous online format in two terms per semester starting in January, March, May, July, August and October. Students are not required to attend live online classes on set days or times each week, and coursework can be completed within each course schedule and deadline structure. This approach gives working professionals greater control over when they engage with readings, discussions and assignments while still receiving structured academic support and faculty guidance.
SAMPLE COURSES
Healthcare Law (HCA403) – This course examines the ever-changing legal trends faced in the healthcare environment. This course will provide the student with the skills necessary to mitigate liability through risk management principles, develop relationship management skills, incorporate employment law procedures, and manage communication.
Healthcare Operations (HCA427) – This course applies planning and controlling concepts to increase the value of the supply chain to the healthcare supplier. Students learn to evaluate and improve processes. Other topics include process selection, process design, theory of constraints, project implementation, capacity planning, lean production, facility location and business forecasting that are unique to healthcare.
Social Aspects of Aging (HCA474) – This course introduces the student to core components and trends in social gerontology. Social, physical, economic, and political viewpoints are taken into account to assess the interdisciplinary nature within the field.
