Tiffin University to Offer Enhanced Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) Option

Tiffin University is teaming up with the Council of Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) to launch an enhanced Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) initiative for new and current students. Beginning in January, students will have access to Credit Predictor Pro, a web-based software that will guide them through the process of documenting their work and learning experiences. Once students have completed their profile, the system generates a real-time, personalized dashboard to keep them apprised of potential credits earned. Automated estimates of earned credit for certifications, military training or credit-by-exam are created in real-time, while reviews of resumes for experiential learning will be completed in one-to-two business days.

“Learning is a lifelong process,” said Dr. Peter J. Holbrook, Provost and Chief Academic Officer. “It occurs both inside and outside of the classroom. TU has a long-standing commitment to linking knowledge to professional practice, and this new initiative provides students a unique opportunity to streamline and accelerate their completion of a TU degree. Recent research suggests that for the majority of adult prospective college enrollees, the potential to receive college credit for their life/work experiences would strongly influence their enrollment decisions, and we want to ensure that TU is ultimately their institution of choice.”

The review service for potential CPL credit will be offered free of charge to all currently enrolled or admitted prospective TU students.
