What made you decide to pursue your degree as an adult?

I decided to pursue my degree because I am the first in my family to attend college, and furthering my education is incredibly important to me. I have a deep passion for healthcare and helping patients, which has driven me to work as a pharmacy technician and now pursue a career as a pharmaceutical sales representative. My goal is to make a difference in the lives of patients and contribute to the healthcare field in a meaningful way.

Why did you choose to study at Tiffin University?

I chose Tiffin University for several reasons, but above all, it felt like home to me. The campus environment, the faculty and staff, and the overall atmosphere were all welcoming and supportive, making it an easy decision for me. Additionally, Tiffin University’s healthcare administration program offered the perfect blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills that I knew would prepare me well for my future career goals. Overall, Tiffin University felt like the right place for me to further my education and pursue my dreams.

Describe your experience with the program so far.

My experience with Tiffin University’s healthcare administration program has been positive. I’ve gained a solid understanding of healthcare management principles. The support from faculty and staff has been exceptional. Balancing work, school, and personal life has been a challenge, but the program’s flexibility has helped. The technology has been user-friendly, making the virtual learning environment easy to navigate.

My interactions with the faculty and cohort have been supportive and engaging. Faculty members are approachable and knowledgeable, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Interacting with my diverse cohort has enhanced my understanding of the material and improved my teamwork and communication skills. These interactions have been a highlight of my experience in the program.

How are you juggling work, life and going back to school? Any tips?

Juggling work, family, and school can be challenging, but I’ve found a few strategies that have helped me manage. Firstly, I prioritize and plan my time effectively, setting aside dedicated blocks for work, study, and family time. I also communicate openly with my employer, professors, and family members about my commitments, which helps manage expectations and reduce stress. 

For someone nervous about handling it all, I would recommend taking things one step at a time and not being afraid to ask for help when needed. It’s also important to stay organized and maintain a positive mindset, remembering that you are capable of managing your responsibilities effectively.

What keeps you motivated to stay in the program?

Several factors kept me motivated throughout my time in the program. My passion for healthcare and helping patients was a driving force behind my studies and career aspirations. Additionally, being the first in my family to attend college motivated me to set a positive example and achieve something meaningful for myself and my family. The support and encouragement from my professors, classmates, and family played a significant role in keeping me motivated. Their belief in me pushed me to overcome challenges and continue striving for success. Overall, the opportunity to make a difference in healthcare and the support I received from those around me kept me motivated throughout my studies.

What advice would you give to a prospective student who is thinking about going back to school?

My advice to a prospective student thinking about going back to school would be to carefully consider your goals and motivations for furthering your education. Going back to school can be a rewarding experience, but it also requires dedication, time, and financial commitment. It’s important to have a clear understanding of what you hope to achieve and how furthering your education will help you reach your goals. I would encourage prospective students to believe in themselves and their ability to succeed. Going back to school can be daunting, but with determination, hard work, and support from others, it is possible to achieve your academic and career goals.

TU’s motto is: Without risk there is no gain. Can you tell us about a time when you took a risk and what you gained from it?

One significant risk I took was deciding to attend college, becoming the first in my family to pursue higher education. This decision was a leap into the unknown, filled with uncertainty about the future. However, I was driven by a desire to achieve something meaningful for myself and those who look up to me. 

Throughout my college journey, I faced academic challenges, financial pressures, and personal doubts. But through perseverance and hard work, I navigated these obstacles and graduated with a degree in healthcare administration. 

The decision to attend college was a risk that has brought me numerous rewards. I gained knowledge and skills that have prepared me for a successful career, and I developed a sense of confidence and independence that has positively impacted every aspect of my life. This experience has taught me that taking risks is essential for growth and success, inspiring me to continue pushing boundaries and striving for excellence.
