What made you decide to pursue your degree as an adult?
I found a career/company with a lot of opportunities for growth. Part of the growth at my current company involves a degree. I decided to pursue a degree so that my options would increase in terms of career advancement.
Why did you choose to study at Tiffin University?
I researched many institutions and Tiffin stuck out to me because the online programs seemed flexible. I have busy work and personal schedules, so it is important that I have that flexibility. After speaking with an advisor about the online BBA program, I knew it was the right fit for me!
Describe your experience with the program so far.
My experience at TU has been amazing. I was anxious about using a new platform (Moodle) as I used a different platform at my previous school. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out how easy Moodle is to navigate. I also am extremely appreciative of my advising team. They have been patient with the many questions I ask them!
Every faculty member I have come in contact with has made me feel welcome and valued. Especially, my professors. It is nice to have professors who support me and genuinely want to see me succeed.
How are you juggling work, life and going back to school? Any tips?
My biggest advice when it comes to juggling school with work and life is to NOT procrastinate. I used to be a big procrastinator, but I found that was the source of some of my anxiety. Also, stay organized and allow yourself to block off time for schoolwork.
What keeps you motivated to stay in the program?
I am motivated by the potential career opportunities I have at my current company. I work for a global chemical manufacturer, and it seems like my possibilities are endless.
What advice would you give to a prospective student who is thinking about going back to school?
Do it! Going back to school opens up so many doors for your future. It will only help you in your journey.
TU’s motto is: Without risk there is no gain. Can you tell us about a time when you took a risk and what you gained from it?
I take risks all the time. I always say “I won’t know if I don’t try.” The rewards I have gained from taking risks have instilled a confidence in me that continues to evolve. I want to keep striving for the best and I know I am capable of anything I put my mind to.
