What made you decide to pursue your degree as an adult?
My children are my biggest reason. I want them to know nothing is too hard to accomplish and success is attainable with hard work and dedication.
Why did you choose to study at Tiffin University?
They had a discounted program with my employer.
Describe your experience with the program, your cohort and faculty?
I loved the program. I realized quickly how much organization and dedication is important. My interactions were really minimal unless I had any issues. The professors I did interact with responded quickly and had a great deal of understanding.
How did you juggle work, life, and going back to school? Any tips?
I am a mother of four children and I work fifty hours a week. Going back to school took a great deal of devotion. Setting up a schedule for myself truly was key. I also had my husband and children giving me a big push when all I wanted to do was give up. My support system was amazing and I am forever grateful.
What kept you motivated to stay in the program?
I know I am better than what my situation was. All I was missing was the degree. I pushed and pushed to prove to myself I could do it. I pushed and pushed to show my children anything is possible.
What advice would you give to a prospective student who is thinking about going back to school?
Getting yourself a schedule and sticking to it will be a huge part of going back. Always believe in yourself!
TU’s motto is: Without risk there is no gain. Can you tell us about a time when you took a risk and what you gained from it?
Going back to school was a big risk for me. At that point I hadn’t been in school for almost two decades. I did not know what to expect, I was scared of the unknown, and I really did not think I could do it. My gain is successfully obtaining my bachelor’s degree. My children were able to see the struggle first hand and at the end what that struggle afforded me!!!!
