Current occupation: Michigan State Police Trooper
What made you decide to pursue your degree as an adult?
I wanted to finish what I had started.
Why did you choose to study at Tiffin University?
Initially a baseball scholarship brought me down to TU in 2019 and switched to online in 2020 after the season was cancelled. The respected homeland security program kept me at TU for the next two years finishing online.
Describe your interactions with your cohort and faculty?
Good interactions with all, always able to flex your schedule.
How are you juggling work, life, and going back to school? Any tips?
I would make sure to work on school work everyday, so I would not get behind. You never want to play catch up in work or school.
What keeps you motivated to stay in the program?
I want to be successful in all that I do and I know a bachelor’s degree would only help.
What advice would you give to a prospective student who is thinking about going back to school?
Quit thinking about it and just go for it. You will make it work, it is not that hard.
TU’s motto is: Without risk there is no gain. Can you tell us about a time when you took a risk and what you gained from it?
In 2021 I decided to accept employment with the Michigan State Police and went to the six month academy. I took a half a year off of school and decided I would finish my nine credits after the academy. I am proud of myself for starting my career at 22 years old and finishing my remaining credits while working full-time to finish my undergrad.
