Current occupation: Human Resources Director
What made you decide to pursue your degree as an adult?
There is a different level of readiness with education as an adult. I’m motivated to advance my career while using my work experiences to support my educational journey.
Why did you choose to study at Tiffin University?
I had a great experience at Tiffin with my Bachelors in Business Administration so when I made the decision to continue my education it was an easy choice.
Describe your experience with the program, your cohort and faculty?
I was surprised with how much base knowledge I had from work experience and my recent bachelors that supported discussions with my professors and classmates. I really enjoyed getting their perspective and learning familiar content in a different way. Having experience at other higher education institutions, I can easily say that faculty and my cohort were nothing but supportive and engaging.
How did you juggle work, life, and going back to school? Any tips?
Focus on your why. Keeping a motivated mindset has helped me stay engaged while juggling everything else.
What kept you motivated to stay in the program?
A lot of things kept me motivated. My goals, supportive faculty, engaging cohort, and academic counselors that were knowledgeable.
What advice would you give to a prospective student who is thinking about going back to school?
Make a plan, reach out for more information, and ask as many questions you need to feel comfortable to start or restart your education.
TU’s motto is: Without risk there is no gain. Can you tell us about a time when you took a risk and what you gained from it?
In 2022, I held an address in 3 states within a 6 month period while working and going to school full time. While the original plan didn’t go as intended, that risk of the unknown landed me exactly where I am now, working in my field at a director level while working on a second masters here at Tiffin.
