CPL for Graduate or Doctoral Students

Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) can be awarded towards a master’s degree in many different ways. Here are some examples of how CPL at Tiffin University can save you time and money.

With CPL, you may have already earned as much as one-third of your TU Master’s degree!

Your work experiences and skills may qualify you for low-cost Course credit. Up to 3 hours (1 course) of GRADUATE credit may be awarded for each SEVEN years of your related professional, military, or community service experience. (Currently, credit for professional experience is offered for MBA and MEd students).

To Apply:

Click here to browse through the available courses, and their related learning outcomes.

Select the courses whose skills/outcomes align with AT LEAST 7 years of your professional experience (this may span multiple jobs).

Prepare a clearly and professionally written statement that clearly indicates the course credit you are applying for and thoroughly details how you demonstrated the skills in your professional experience. Include a reference from the specific place(s) of employment who can confirm your statements. There is no minimum word count for your statement, but it should exhibit graduate-level writing capabilities.

Include a separate statement for each course you are applying for. A maximum of 3 hours (1 course) of credit may be awarded for each SEVEN years of professional experience.
