What made you decide to pursue your degree as an adult?

I knew that I wanted a college degree since I was a freshman in high school. I wanted to go to college to work hard for a career and have many opportunities in the future.

Why did you choose to study at Tiffin University?

My mom decided to go to Tiffin University a few years ago to obtain her master’s. I was inspired by her hard work and the skills she acquired through this school, which made me decide to transfer to Tiffin from another college.

What has been your experience with the program so far?

I have had a great experience in this program so far and I am glad that I was able to complete it at Tiffin. I was surprised by how helpful the professors were and how quickly they responded when I had any questions or needed help. The technology for studying online was easy to use, and I enjoy the online aspect of college.

How has your experience been with faculty and your cohort?

Throughout my interactions with the faculty and cohort, I have only had positive experiences. Every faculty member has been helpful and determined, and every student has been polite. I did meet a good friend of mine through Tiffin University that lives in another state.

How are you juggling work, life and going back to school? Any tips?

Juggling work, family, and school can be stressful at times, but I was able to handle all of the work through time management. If someone is nervous about being able to handle and juggle everything at once, I recommend using time management to plan accordingly.

What keeps you motivated to stay in the program?

My family helps me stay motivated in this program by encouraging me to keep up on my homework. Also, I know that college is a large amount of work, but it does pay off in the end.

What advice would you give to a prospective student who is thinking about going back to school?

I recommend staying organized and using time management when going back to school. Staying organized will allow you to meet your deadlines on time and plan out when you have time for your assignments.

TU’s motto is: Without risk there is no gain. Can you tell us about a time when you took a risk and what you gained from it?

This past semester, I took a few extra courses to complete my degree sooner. Within a seven week term, I took four classes. I took a considerable risk by taking on extra work, and in the end, I was able to finish my bachelor’s quickly.
