The Tiffin University Each One, Reach One award was presented on March 17 during TU’s annual Women’s Leadership Conference.
The Each One, Reach One award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exemplary engagement in facilitating leadership development for women. This year’s recipient is Lynn Detterman, a 2019 Tiffin University alumna.
Detterman is the former president of three local community hospitals – Willard, Tiffin and Defiance –part of the Bon Secours Mercy Health System. In her tenure at Mercy Health, she significantly improved financial performance by identifying physician recruitment needs, service line opportunities and operational efficiencies. Detterman was responsible for the hospitals’ overall direction, recommending annual operating and capital budgets, and for sustaining a culture that represents the mission and core values of Mercy Health. She ensured compliance with regulations governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring the hospitals’ operations and proposing changes when required.
She was also extensively involved in the area community as a member of Rotary, both Willard and Tiffin/Seneca Economic Partnership boards, Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio, St. Francis Xavier Finance Council and a Board of Trustee at Heidelberg University.
Recently, Detterman relocated to Wisconsin and is the President of ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Neenah. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Case Western Reserve University and a Master of Business Administration from Tiffin University.
“Lynn Detterman is an inspiration to all of us,” said Tiffin University President Dr. Lillian Schumacher. “She is one of the most self-aware leaders I know. I can think of no other leader who deserves this recognition, especially given this year’s conference theme of balance and wellness. Congratulations Lynn.”
